Your ear durability for supraaural/clip ons?

I've been listening around with my new RS1's for about 2 hours now, and this suddenly came to my mind; how do Head-fiers here find their own ear durability to be like? I thought of this because I was wearing the RS1 for hours at a time with flats, with no apparent distress at all (it did get hot, but no pain)... and Grados happen to be notoriously known as one of the more uncomfortable headphones around due to their supraaural nature (and with pads like flats, drivers almost touching your ear). I seem to have no problem with anything that rests on my ears for long term; my ES7, while clearly more uncomfortable than the RS1's, still gives me no trouble, and clip ons like KSC75's don't really give me trouble over the long run either. I guess I have really dull senses on my outer ears?

If anything, I seem to experience pain faster with certain clamping circumaurals, due to my mild TMJ. Funny thing is that my inner ears seem to be completely opposite of my outer ear durability; they're extremely sensitive, and I can't wear any IEM's past an hour, even with custom sleeves on my SE530's...

So let's do a poll here on how everyone finds their own ear durability to be with Supraaural/clip on cans. For the sake of the poll, let's assume the headphone clamp/pressure is ES7/Grado level, which IMO isn't the most clamping (like let's say, HD25's/HD280's...) or too loose (like HD238's, etc).

Just my opinion:

I find the Grado comfies WAY too big for it to be supra-aural on my head, so the padding is also on my head, dissipating the pressure around my ear.

Still comfy. I take my headphones off about every hour or so to get something, or 2+ if truly listening.
