I had an hour to kill earlier today, so I went into a music store with the intent of buying a really cheesy CD or 2. Somehow, I managed to walk out with good music.

Onyx - Bacdafucup
Limp Bizkit - Greatest Hitz (yeah yeah yeah, I know... but it's fun)
Ministry - Just One Fix single
Ministry - The Fall/Reload single

There was a sale in Tower Records today, a cd for 10 bucks in my currency. That would be USD2.50.

Sin-e - Deep Water Dropoff....I've seen this name numerous times before but had no idea what they do. I thought they were some band. Turns out to be a nice irish jig

Peaches - Fatherf*&ker - Heard some hype about it. I think its trashy to the end

Helen Merrill - Carrousel....American standard type of songs. I saw that it was from Findland and thought for the price, it wouldn't do no harm to try some world music. Turns out it was something else. Beautiful voice though

Here are the non-bargains one

Shirley Horn - Here's To Life. I always wanted to get this but was searching for the vinyl version. Anyway just bought it too at TR together with the bargain stuff above. AMAZING. I always thought minimalist arrangements suited Horn best, but this is just surreal. I'm not sure whether this is better then You Won't Forget Me which is my favourite Shirley Horn album. The latter seems to work better as a whole but we'll see.

Lea Delaria - Double Standards...jazz restylings of comtempary songs from various genres. Kinda of like when Paul Anka did Nirvana, but this is more mainstram jazz. Nice voice, but need to hear more. I like her voice better then KD Lang by a long shot. She has that subtletly going on which I like. Less is more but I have to listen more

Iron Maiden - AMOLAD. I listen a few times and its ok I guess. It isn't really edgy or grabbing me by the seat, perhaps it will grow on me. The sound quality is very good too especially for a local pressing.
