I would have a HE90 w/ singlepower es-1 or a hd650 balanced into singlepower

not sure what cdp or dac
maybe 50,000 is not as crazy

list your favorite combos in your dream system/current system
have fun

edit: i am interested in detail and instrument separation and namely dacs/cdps along with amps/phones

1. BPT-3.5 Signature power supply
2. Teac Esoteric Transport P-03 with Valhalla power Reference Cord
3. Teac Esoteric D/A Converter D-03 with Valhalla Power Reference Cord
4. Valhalla IC
5 Magnum Dynalab MD108 Reference FM Tuner with "standard" Valhalla Power cord
6. Valhalla IC
7. Singlepower ES-1
8. Sennheiser HE90 headphone

(Do i acutally believe in these cables...i'm skeptical..but for 100K i might as well have all the bases covered)

I could be happy with a nicely configured SLAM with some good tubes, an Eastsound CD-E5, and my HD650's with an Equinox cable. Analog and power cables would be from Signal Cable, and I'll toss in my HTS 3500 MKII power conditioner.

I'd spend the rest of the money on CD's and a decent audio rack to house it all

I could be happy with a setup like that, even if I could afford a mega-bucks setup. I've realized that gear that's super expensive really wouldn't be worth it, since I don't really have the most discerning ears, and I probably really wouldn't appreciate it anyways.

Edit: Bonus...I just realized I'll be able to afford gear like that in the next few years

x2... If I had that much to blow on audio gear... It certainly wouldn't be all on headphones. I'd stick with singlepower tubes, an accurate, revealing source in the $700 range and an RS1.

Nice choices, but might as well go all out and go for the P-01 and D-01... and the G-01.

Source: REIMYO CDP-777 CD Transport/Player
Amp: Maxed out Singlepower SDS-XLR
Headphones: Sony MDR-R10 Recabled and balanced by Singlepower

Still way under $100K.

By the end of this month, I will own my dream headphone and video reference system which is in my signature. And it only cost me $10,350.00 USD. I would save the rest of the money and invest it wisely. But, that's just me.

true, i have yet to have been to a real concert, but even loud bars are too much for my ears

i'd probably go with the hd650 balanced or something else current, i wouldnt like waiting around for an orpheus to show up

im sure with 100k you could have both though, or anything for that matter
