Amazon Wish List:
1. Sennheiser Orpheus
2. STAX 009
3. An amp for EACH of them.

And what exactly is wrong with this statement?
Beats, not so much, but the Aviators and the Mix Master Mike from SC are actually REALLY good headphones.

mostly looked as a fashion statement, DJ use.
i see the SC Aviators and MMM like the B&W P5. portable mid-fi use with nice looks and good sound.
the aviators would look decent in a Portable setup.
the MMM of course, for DJ use.
but i wouldnt put either in a home setup...

The P5 is ugly, just like all of B&W's offerings.
But that's beside the point. Regardless of what they're seen as or meant to be used as, the aviators and MMM are good headphones. When did being a home headphone come into play? Your statement is a complete non-sequitur.

When you look at your MPG readout on your car, see the AVG led, and think it says AKG

when these are what you'd expect your favourite speakers to be
yeah, i know this a headphone forum, and yeah these things are overpriced, but their promise of concert-like reproduction has me enraptured
they're jamo r909, and as fair as i know, you can build copies pretty cheaply
still want

When you rip old-school music so when you let someone else listen to your rig they can notice the difference.
I did this and ended up liking all of what I've ripped even if I'm a 90's kid.
