Hello Head-Fi Community,

I've been lurking these forums for quite a while, but now I decided to register and ask a little help from you guys.
I am in the process of buying a new headset for gaming and music. While I am not particularly looking for a surround headset I do not mind if it has the option as I do like to play FPS games online from time to time.

My very first headphones I owned (for gaming) was a russian Cosonic CD-7000, which you probably have not heard of. It was a 6.2 home theater headphone with 8 drivers for $40. While its sound quality was awful and I generally had many issues with it, it had a dedicated subwoofer in each earcup. I kinda loved how the earcups and my ears 'vibrated' as the bass came into play, tho I am not sure how healthy it was. :) Still, part of me is looking for that feeling.

I had many headphones/headsets since then, a Logitech H-760 and a Philips SMH7410U/10 most recently, I decided to go for a new one. Generally, I am looking for something that has a powerful, kicking bass while maintaining the sound quality. I have an on-board soundcard, I've just purchased my PC 1 week ago so my budget is sorta low, that's the reason I've been looking for a USB headset so I do not have to pay extra for an ASUS Xonar DGX.

Here are the headsets that I currently have on my list:

Corsair Vengeance 1500
http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-1500-dolby-7-1-usb-gaming-headset.html
-I've heard that this one lacks in the bass department
-Reviews talk about an amazing sound quality in general

Sennheiser PC 323D G4me
http://en-us.sennheiser.com/gaming-headset-stereo-dolby-headphone-pc-323d
-No info on driver size
-Not sure how good the surround sound in this one
-Not so many english reviews
-I had a Sennheiser earphone before and I was not satisfied with the build quality

Razer Tiamat 2.2 + DGX
http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-tiamat-22/
-Dedicated subwoofer drivers
-People say that the overall sound quality is not that good on Razer products
-Analog so I'd need a soundcard

Razer Kraken Pro + DGX
http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-kraken-pro
-Analog

Mad Catz Cyborg F.R.E.Q. 5 +DGX
http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/freq5.htm
-Reviews say that it has powerful bass
-I own their gaming mouse and I love it so I have a good opinion about the company
-Analog
-No name in gaming audio industry(?)

I am really pleased with what I read about the Corsair Vengeance 1500, but people say that it lacks the bass, so I am afraid to buy them.

Many of you will probably tell me that I should go with a headphone+clip-on mic combo, which I am totally fine with, but my budget is as low as 150$ and the prices are a bit higher here, where I live (e.g. the razer tiamat 2.2 costs 20$ more here than in the US) and I am not sure I can afford a quality headphone plus a soundcard right now.

Anyways, sorry for the long post, and thanks for the help in advance.

EDIT:
Type of music I would be listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqx0zStGIzs

i hear that the steelseries siberia v2 has good sound quality for a gaming headset & it's within your price range.

generally, people here seem to look down on dedicated gaming headsets & most people here haven't tried many, so I don't know how much help you'll get here.

also, driver size has no correlation with sound quality. also, dedicated subwoofer drivers may not sound better as I heard some people here refer to the Razr multiple driver setup as gimicky and think that the sound quality is not that great. of course, i've never tried any of the headsets on your list, so i can't say much.
