I have seen two for sale on ebay and they are around the price range you paid. So not sure if you overpaid. Would love to get one of these bad boys. The two sellers on ebay I believe were both from Japan and I didnt get a good vibe from either. Otherwise I might have pulled the trigger. Wonder how one would obtain warranty service?

Sony Style Japan is selling it for 24,800 JPY so it's about $295 USD. I guess I didn't over paid by that much. The price of getting it first.

Has any1 tried finding some impressions/reviews from japanese sites? The more people looking the bigger chance of finding one. It's been available long enough in japan to certainly at least some1 must have written something about them.

Wow, apparently they extend all the way down to 2 Hz. Bass will probably be amazing but I wonder how the rest of the spectrum will sound on it. I eagerly await their arrival.

Hey I don't have my brain blown out despite using a setting like this for my XB500 if I want to feel like having 2 small subs attached to the head... 
 

 
Maybe XB1000 got potential though. I doubt there will ever be a headphone that would be concidered too bassheavy to me.
