Notice my A3050 has lots of different modes like Hall in Vienna, chamber etc.

Does anyone ever use any of these modes for say, movies, gaming, music?

If so which modes for each source do you like?

A former member used the "Hall in Vienna" DSP to make some of his older, drier classical recordings warm up a bit, and was quite a fan of it.

I play around with the Yamaha settings.  I find the signal levels of the surround channels to be too high and adjust them downward quite a bit to give just a hint of ambience. I also adjust some of the timing parameters to give me what I like.   I mean you are rarely going to hear echo in a real concert hall setting. I do bump up the signal for music which should reverberant, such as cathedrals.  There I use the Vienna mode with increased delay and liveliness. I also add bass to the rear channels.

I suspect that every system needs tweaking to its own room. The Yamaha system is fun to play with.
