By far my favorite headphone! And it's also the best I've heard.

Merging technicalities and musicality in a way that I've not experienced on any other HP before... The Yammy are truly special imo.

But they're not for the faint of heart. They are damn picky and demanding of quality.

Garbage in garbage out is what the Yammy excels at. And that can be a double edged sword.

If you're not willing to work for its synergy, don't bother with these headphones (imo).

it's been quite some time since i auditioned the yh-5000se. while i appreciated its design aesthetic, build quality, light weight and relatively compact size compared to other planar magnetic headphones, it sounded very 'hi-fi' to me, if that makes sense. i couldn't describe the sound signature as 'natural' but it is unique.

Having a cheaper model with similar tech would be appreciated, though.

@YAMAHA official : So if you would like to know how that would work, feel free to PM me about sending me a a YH-5000SE to keep and I can give monthly reports about how to design the cheaper model for up to a year. ;)
