Why do these look eerily like Beats??

Hopefully, it is only to cash in on the external form and design, but still ...  has Yamaha no shame?

Well, there are some IEM's out there that look like prior IEM's of another brand.

Brainwavz B2 come to mind. Maybe it's that Beats are kind of ignored here?

Hopefully the beats resemblance ends with just the appearance. Personally I am pumped for theses! I was thinking when I was amazed by the sound of my eph100s how I wish they would bring out premium headphones!

Actually I am getting a bit worried, the impedance of the beats pro and the 500s seems about the same. (Monster dont provide specs so I had to find it in a review)

I hope its not the same can with different logo.

Different things. The brainwavs B2 didn't just look like the DBA-02, it was the same thing just different colour from the same OEM manufacturer. brainwavs stuff is all from a OEM manufacturer. This just looks similar style to beats, not identical body and housing.

Sadly I cant find any. I ordered a pair, but the supplier just emailed me saying Yamaha in the UK is out of stock for 2 months. This is not to say that other stores dont have stock.

So now I wait and contemplate.

Looks like well have to wait some more (in the UK at least) I had 2 suppliers confirm (audio affair and custom cables) that Yamaha has pushed the release date back to January.

Amazon US still says 1st November... well see.
