I have new Sony turntable and my pretty reliable Yamaha A-S500 integrated amp. On phono input, even when turntable is disconnected, if I turn level to more than half I get loud buzz or hum on phono input. With turntable, grounded, turned on or off it's the same thing. It is completely amps phono stage.
Is that okay? I believe amp is sort of self-grounded and has built-in euro power cord with no grounding.
