What batteries are you using in the XP-7 and what kind of life are you getting out of them?

I used duracell and did not keep track of the hours, but I am certain it was more than 8. Have you considered the power supply? I did not go that route as the batteries were not an issue and I've read that there is no difference in sound.

The last time I had an XP-7 I got about 45 hours with fresh Alkaline batteries. It was pretty easy to remember as almost all of the listening was in airports or airplanes. I carried a spare set but never used them.

I own the XP7 with a PS, but I have tried 2 sets of the regular Duracells and averaged about 46-48 hours. Couldn't tell the difference between PS and batteries.

With cheap two for $1 batteries I got two months of very light use listening.

Now that I use the Emmeline XP-7 amplifier alot more often I have moved on to rechargable Energizers. They last seven hours and fifty minutes until the sound starts to distort.

I use good alkaline batteries (Duracell or Energizer) in mine, and they last forever. When I first got it, I was listening to it at work every day (and I mean every day...7 days a week!!) for 6-8 hours a day, and it took almost two weeks for the batteries to give out. I'd say 40+ hours is a conservative estimate...
