I'm using ER-4P with IPOD (Xin's super miniamp 6.2C with built in 4S convertor), i find that ER4P gives me more base without amp than with amp. Is it supose to be like that because with 4S convertor built in ? or do I have to burn in the amp for a long time then it will have better base with amp? has this ever happen to anyone here when they first got their miniamp? I throught the mini amp should sound better than the ipod amp without burn in but what I got is the headphone sounds better without the amp......
I'm a very newbie, can anyone here help me?

Yes, the 4P does give you more bass but if you run the 4P through an amp without the converter it might sound bloated. The 4S gives you accurate bass and more detail. I switched from a supermini v6 to a Headsave Transit with a converter cable and find the bass is much improved.

The other option is to send it back to Xin and have the converter removed. Then you can buy the adapter and have the choice of using the 4P or 4S.

iamdone , thx for your reply....

before i make any decision, i want to know anyone got the miniamp with P-S convertor built in and are happy with it. does the amp really need to burn in for at least one week for it to get better sound with amp than without amp?

without P- S convertor built in the amp and use the convertor cable sound should be same as the amp with convertor built in without convertor cable, right??

thx

Yes, the amp would sound the same with the converter built-in vs using the cable. The advantage of not having the converter built-in is you can use the amp for other headphones or see what the 4P sounds like with the amp. Also try setting the Ipod at 80% volume and using the amp volume to adjust the level. On the v6, burn-in for about 50-70 hours was very important and greatly improved the sound.
