Xduoo XD05T "Portable" Dac + Tube Amp

Trying this amp out with Senn. HD700 and it is one of the better amps I own for this HP. Liking the instant on. Not getting "tube" hot like other amps I own. Battery life is on the low side but getting 4 hours through 2 charge cycles. Will switch to external power and see what difference if any it makes on sound.
All in all, this is a good amp/dac and if it were under $400 would be an easy rec

I just bought one after seeing Andy's review. I'll be using it with a planar IEM (Shozy P20, sensitivity 105dB at 1kHz/mW, impedance 30Ω) and I hope I won't hear any buzz or hiss... just heavenly music.
Fingers crossed!

So far it has been desktop and headphones only, and no hiss or noise that I can perceive on both battery and ext. power supply

Very good... I guess with your Sennheiser HD700.
Do you have any chance to test it with an IEM?

I think both Andy and @ToneDeafMonk are good reviewers.
I bought the Onix Alpha after seeing their reviews and iBasso DX180 after talking w ToneDeafMonk...

(Now if I can only get him to say Tabernack ?sp? on one of his videos... )

I think I'd go w the Pro over this... although in the winter... would be nice way to keep warm... :)

So you are spending 500$ with something that will burn out… doest make sense for me
I read before that these tubes have a lifespan of 50,000 hours, so leaving them on 24/7 would last almost 6 years... I'm more concerned about the end of the battery life (as for any device I own), which I imagine I'll have to unsolder and replace, since I don't think there's a socket with a plug. But to avoid causing damage, I could also consider it as a desktop solution, always plugged into the power outlet.
Unfortunately there are no eternal electronic devices, you have to live with this eventuality, not thinking about it too much and enjoying it in that moment.

Lol!:dt880smile:Were you torn between two products that have more than 2k€ of difference? I'm intrigued... I'm trying to find out what the Hugo 2 can do so much better to justify this 5 times price difference. For now it just looks like an expensive button panel from a vintage arcade game cabinet. But it must necessarily be a very good product.

The Hugo 2 is a completely different beast… also they stayed w micro usb rather than update to USB C.

By the time the tubes burn out, you would have moved on to something else… also if you could get matched tubes… you could solder them in yourself but probably not worth it unless you are into electronics as a hobby.
