XDUoo XD05PRO

No, absolutely zero hiss/background noise with my stock V1.7 card using OPA1612, Burson V5i-D and V6 opamps. But as I mentioned I use my XD05PRO only with my full size headphones: HD650, Focal Clear/Elegia, Audeze-X.
My ‘night and day’ reference was strictly referring to background noise. With stock V1.7 card, my Xe6 and SR-11 were unusable with the XD05 because of hiss. V1.8 completely removed all noise on both, even in turbo. Also, I was using sparkos op amps for reference.

I've got an answer from Xduoo servise. Seems that V1.7 and V1.8 are identical boards, just different batch...

Maybe your stock V1.7 board was deffective from the begining 🤔.

Not sure. I know multiple folks who experienced the same results that I did. I reached out to Wei specifically asking if they offered an alternative amp card compatible with sensitive IEM’s. He responded ‘yes’, provided an invoice and sent. Believe it or don’t believe it lol. I trust my ears and the ears of trusted others I know who received the V1.8 card after requesting the same needs that I did.

I believe that there is a "special version" of this op-amp board called "low thrust version". I even managed to find one on Aliexpress:

https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyAZTKX

So, I think there are two V1.8 op-amp board versions: "low thrust V1.8 version for sensitive IEMs" and "regular V1.8 version". This would be the most logical conclusion that comes to my head 🤔.

@Visceral could you please make a closely photo of your new modified V1.8 op-amp board to see what are the differences (if there are any). In that case I would compare it to my new regular V1.8 board. I think there should be some differences in resistors with small numbers on board (look at photo below).

Also interesting what does this mean: "Thrust is about half of the the standard version" - does it mean that output power in mW is cut in half? 🤔

Unfortunately there is no official XDUOO support that could comment and explain to us exactly here on Head-Fi forum topic.

I currently only have the one I posted in my listing. I tried to darken to make the numbers easier to read but it’s not perfect. I do notice multiple changes. I can try and take a better photo later. And I honestly have no idea. I’m not familiar with ‘thrust’.

Hi,

You have the low thrust op amp card. The resistors are modified.

I've made an optical zoom-in photos of my stock V1.7 board and my new V1.8 board from Xduoo and found zero differences. All the numbers on resistors and capacitors are the same on each board. So, I have two identical specs op-amp boards just with different batch numbers.

I would like to see what are the differences on modified "low thrust version" op-amp board.

Finally contacted the Xudoo support via wechat.
He sent me a new display PLUS a display cable, and also asked his engineer to show how to open the box up and change the display.
Try to follow the steps and changed the display first, and no good.
Then try to replace the display cable as well, and the new display comes alive !!

Now can enjoy the power of XD05PRO without any visual impairment.

Thanks for all bros who have guided and helped this round. Guess it s a good learning journey too.

Cheers 🍻
Now, I got same problem.
I contact seller which has 180days exchange policy, hopefully got reply soon.

Sorry to hear your problem.

I talked directly to Xudoo support on WeChat last round, and they send me the display and display cable for my DIY. The engineer did a clip to show me how to dismantle and change the display.

If your seller has an exchange policy, then guess it s worthwhile to get a new one instead of all the hassles.

Hope things will turn out alright soon. Cheers

the company uses this for the normal thrust version:

0603 2kω ±1% 1/10w Smd Resistor (30b)

The lower power resistor can be of many types. I'll check mine, but I think it's 1k ohm. The other guy's low version op amp card has 471 resistors, which is 470 ohm.

Quick question, I know it was already discussed but I still have not found a clear answer. Which power supply should I buy to use the xduoo in ext mode?

And, is the manufacturer power supply (the little cooling board) released already?
