with ta-22 you can change sound,tone ,balance with tubes,on K9 you have what have .

I also ordered the TA-22 today from AP in France. Plus these tubes. They're supposed to be better than the Gold Lion.

correct. after month use of ta-22 im found that stock tubes is very linear and musical sounding, and tubes is noisy,but one tube has far bigger floor noise or ground noise and noise not changes with volume rise on dac. so,ordered tungsol 12au7w pair tubes too.

now that you have the RFT and tungsol. which ones are better?
i have TAD 12au7w and RFT. maybe TAD is defective one lamp, but TAD is linear sound and very good. RFT is V shaped soud gain bass and a bit highs. maybe RFT is more harman sounding. very good silent tubes. but not my favorite. Tungsol is on its way still . waiting parcel. think tungsol will be best of three

I have some of the 12AU7's mentioned (RCA, Sylvania and Raytheon) and a few pair of the 6189's on the list. Also ECC802S such as the J&J version can be used.
I've got the TA-22 on order that I'm going to test out for a family member so I'll try tube rolling with it after it arrives.

im read this in past web.all about vintage tubes. im like neutral natural sounding headphones,so,tubes not helps here,im changed warm hedphones for neutral sounding on ta-22 setup, but rolling tubes can only minimal help for sound change.
vintage RCA clear top im read very nice tubes. From modern JJ electronics tubes gain bass punch and highs ,usefull is setup needs highs frequency. Electro harmonics for gain midrage.

after month use im like more and more ta-22. now good trained eras with top headphones connected even with stock tube im hear diferent sound from pcm filters, im like most FAST LINE for crisp highs, and BRICKWALL for warm sound, also nice HYBRID filter for mellow sound. still waiting tungsol 12au7 tubes to roll sound tone.

I just got this DAC/AMP i never have tube before and this sound smooth with big soundstage and strong sub bass i quite like it. I read the post here and i agree with leonasj i sometimes hear noise which will not go away. Any recommendation for tube substitute and better overall sound?
received tungsol 12au7w. they far better sound vs stock tubes, no noise,bigger soundstage, very neutral sound, lot of details, extended sound from bottom to end, very good instrument separation,3D feeling and silky smooth not fatique highs . still my best tubes im tried a date. not a full “tube” sounding that i like. for full tube sound maybe better go for british mullards or electro harmonics tubes.now happy with tungsol. maybe try tj full music ,gold lion in future.

I have RCA and Tung-SOL tubes. Both blades are very good but I prefer the RCA.
what RCA have clear or black top? or black glass? my best is tungsol , it is far better vs xduoo stock TAD 12au7w tubes , tad is same as rft, but rft diferent shaped sound, and tried vintage telefunkens , telefunkens foggy sound vs all them
