An I right in thinking that the battery provides quieter, smoother power than powering through the USB?

In most cases it does, unless a USB is really (I mean REALLY) clean.

LG V40 + Fiio FH5
No problem in LDAC mode
Sadly you can't use LDAC with the LG V60 because it defaults to AptX Adaptive. I've asked @Sebastien Chiu and @iFi audio if they can please put in a request to allow disabling BT codecs like AptX Adaptive in firmware, so that phones like the V60 can be paired using LDAC. Same issue with GO Blu.

I would be mad if the battery inflated on my gryphon and my device would be unusable even it was costed 100 euros, that’s a bad experience on the confidence of any product. Are we buying devices programmed to die and not last, that’s bad, realy bad on my view of an electronic device.

To be fair, he did keep the battery fully charged and kept on recharging it for a year, which would kill most batteries.

For those following my Gryphon battery issues I'm happy to report that its working very well now after fully charging the low cell in the battery at the weekend.

I'm getting very good battery life now and Gryphon sounds just as awesome as its ever done. I'm using the 3.5mm socket connection today to my Beyer DT1990. Does it get any better than this!

I haven't had to use the MarkParity battery booster cable TM yet but its on standby. :)

So I noticed a strange MQA sample rate behavior when using Roon with my Audeze headphones. Wanted to see if others noticed or if it's normal.

When using Audeze presets enabled on a MQA track its converting it to PCM and also downsampling it from 192 to 96k. Not normal behavior.

When I disable Audeze presets and use Parametric EQ the same track is switching to OFS and not downsampling. Which is expected behavior.

When using no DSP setting at all the track plays normally with MQA enabled on the gryphon. Normal behavior.

Is this a bug or do the Audeze presets force downsampling?

Sorry but there is a timeout function to shutdown after inactivity?
There is, but I'm not really sure under what conditions it shuts itself down. What I mean by that is sometimes it seems to shutdown when I leave it alone for a while and other times it doesn't.

When in USB SPDIF mode shutdown is predictable and usually works OK. The other input modes I'm not really sure, sometimes I leave my Gryphon alone for a while and its off when I return other times it stays on.

Perhaps its this seemingly random auto shutdown behaviour that has caused my battery issues or perhaps the battery issues cause the random shutdown behaviour.

Maybe somebody else can add to my observations and we can work out a pattern to this feature.
