I just thought I'd give a heads up. Computer audio for main listening is not my thing though I need it as a tool. I do stream with dedicated components for normal listening. I'm used to Wavelab Pro via ASIO as a player. Always beat any config of foobar but not practical as a library player.

I finally got a new PC, T430/ssd with W7 (had XP) and thought I'd play around with what may sound decent with a USB DAC. (I'm accustomed to TC or Weiss FW JET types which I clearly prefer). In any case, with Foobar and XBMC (also free) both set to Wasapi, I clearly prefered XBMC with files I'm intimately familiar with. It's also cross platform, can stream and has tons of features in native form. Obviously, it will have a larger footprint.

Probably something already mentioned on the board but didn't see the topic on search. Just a heads up. Regard this as IMO and lets not dwell into the bit perfect and all players sound the same discussion. Try it or not and see if it works for you.
