I bought my X5L 30GB about two weeks ago.
Everything is fine so far and I am very satisfied with this product !
But today when I tried to connect it to my computer I got this Eror:

what makes it even weirder is that it is recognized throut the USB ver 1.1 (obviesly I am tring to cennect it to the USB 2 Port.)

I tried to Change cable and it solved it just for once, after that I got the same eror.

Any Solution/Suggestion will be welcome PPL..
Thank you and have a nice day..

Why do you 'hate it' when it patches you from flaws that hackers without hesitation will exploit and screw up your PC?

Sounds like a software/driver problem to me. These things can get corrupted without your actual intervention. I read that even microsoft now admits that windows can deteriorate over time and need a fresh installation. But why don't you give sp2 a try-the service packs frequently address issues like usb connectivity.

Do you have more than one usb 2.0 port? If so, try alternating. My laptop has 4 usb ports, one of which doesn't really work. You're problem does sound like a faulty usb port, although it might be irq conflict...

edit:

Wait, you don't have SP2 installed? What the hell are you thinking?

I tried SP2, Its useless. and it sucks.
I have 2 USB 2 ports' both of them give me the same Eror. so they are not faulty, its just something not set right, I'll check the Bios for Assiging IRQ to the USB.
I dont think it got anything with SP2 cuse it worked yesterday...
Anyother Suggestions ?

If you havent noticed The Problem is not in the Player, rather then in the USB 2 HUB.

Oh okay, if that's the case you might want to check out the Device Manager ... it'll usually tell you if there's an error in a device on your computer. You may also want to look inside your case and make sure that the USB cable is firmly connected to the motherboard. It's also a good time to clean out the dust if you have any inside your case.

Well, I can't really say anything else to help you if you refuse to install a critical service pack.

I tried to see if it recognizes it in Suse,
And it didnt. so I guess the Issue is not connected to Windows, I dont know..

Did you at least try connecting it with SP2? A lot of USB problems were fixed with SP2. I still think it's a faulty USB port.

Also, connecting to the internet with a circa-SP1 installation of windows is a lot like having sex without a condom - with the most disease infested hooker you could find.

The problem most likely lies in the drivers for the USB devices you have. Follow this link and go a little over one third of the way down the page to the response given by a Microsoft rep about a similar problem.

The idea is that when you install enough devices on your computer, their usb drivers will leave remnants on your computer even if you don't use the device anymore and uninstalled all its components. The device manager and registry need to be cleaned out, or else new items won't be recognized.
