X3 vs Shure

which shure IEM is closest to the Mylar X3? im just starting to get hooked on different headphones after upgrading from creative ep630s to the Mylars and now im reeally curious about the shure line!

is the X3 comparable to the E2C or E3c?

More to e2c IMHO. e3c's are armature IEMs, e2c's dynamic like the X3. Howewver, I would never trade my X3's for "midrange only" e3c's.

the issue is that for a noticable differenace, you have to go a a good armature IEM,

the X3 will sound better then the E2c, the Metro.fi and most other sub $100 IEM´s, actually, the IEM that most people say is the next big step after the X3 are the Future sonics Atrio M5, which can be had for around 150-200,

on the other hand, for 150-180 you can also find Super.fi 5 EB, which are very good and trounce the X3´s,

the E3c is better then the X3, but the differance in detail and sound quality is too little to justify the price differance,
