Long time lurker here.
Ok, I realize this may not be a fair comparison but I want to ask and maybe get a few other points of view.
My situation:
Just ordered the x10's yesterday and got a really good deal. These weren't on my radar but due to the price I jumped; too good to pass up.
I had the S4i's that I loved, they took an unfortunate trip through the washing machine and I had to retire them. I've reverted to some cheap Sony earbuds with the Apple in-line remote.
I had originally planned on holding out to pick up the Reference S4i when they came out but again the deal on the x10's were too good to pass up. So much so that I am willing to sacrifice the Apple in-line remote in lieu of considerably better IEMs.
And there in lies my question...are the x10's leaps and bounds better than the S4i's?
I made the concession of getting the x10's (better sound?) over sticking with the S4 line (which I've had and like; with the Apple in-line remote)
These will be used exclusively with my iPhone, I'm not an audiophile by any means but I do appreciate good sound. My music collection is varied from Oscar Peterson to Mos Def and most of my collection is mp3 (high bit rate).
I plan on using these like I did my S4i's, in the gym, at work, outdoors, etc..
thanks for reading.
