I browsed through the X Series manual and found the following:

"If the computer enters a power saving mode, such as the sleep or hibernation mode, while the player is connected via the USB cable, the player’s battery is not charged. Instead, the player continues to draw power from the battery, discharging it."

As a non-native of English, I found the last sentence confusing. What "battery" and, by extension "it", does it mean: the notebook's or the player's?

Could anyone please clarify? Thanks a lot

I think what it means is that if the computer is in sleep mode, your x series is not going to charge the battery. Instead, the x series is going to run off its own battery (and therefore your not charging it, your draining it).
