Is there a way to get true lineout, straight from the dac, unamped, from my X-Fi XtremeGamer?

No, but then you wouldn't be able to deal with such a thing anyhow. DACs (in this case meaning the DAC chips themselves as found on things like the X-Fi) do not have a signal of sufficient level to drive normal gear, nor are they equipped to deal with varying loads. You need to send them through an opamp (or equivalent discrete solution) before they leave the card.

However, that doesn't make it not a line out. All line outputs on all DACs have a stage after the DAC chip itself. To not do so would render it useless. The X-Fis outputs are line level so they should work fine.
