Recently, I realised that my X-Fi Elite Pro is emitting hissing sound at 50% volume. Can hear quite clearly with my Inspire 5400 or Grado SR-325i. Is my X-Fi spoilt as the hissing is getting annoying.

BTW I can only hear the hissing when there is no sound/music being played.

Wow thats odd, my X-fi is my only source where I can't hear ANY hissing, even at full volume.

Make sure all the inputs are muted for playback. There shouldn't be any hiss, at least not on the outputs on the back of the card.

Ok thanks. It was the Line-In 3/Hi-Z that was causing the hissing. Phew... Saved me from formatting my PC.
