Hi, I'm a new member here but you'll probably see more of me as I start to waste more money here. This post might come off a little noob/roflcopter, but hey you got to start somewhere.
Anyways, I currently have an Senn HD555/x-fi and I'm looking for a DAC and an amp. I know that supposedly HD555's don't improve as much w/ amplification as with better headphones, but later on this year I think I'll beef up to some K701's. I don't really want to spend too much, so the zhaolu is looking like a prime candidate (feel free to convince me otherwise, would it be better to buy a headphone amp and DAC seperately?). I'm sort of confused about the differences of the models between these. First, does the zhaolu at diykits come with the discrete amp advertised on ifiaudio? Is the CS worth the extra over the AD? Also, on diykits which of the "free upgrades" is the preferred option? However, I might just buy a used one of these off of some other head-fi'er to save some money and the hassle though

^here's my music taste if this helps at all. I listen to a lot of chamber pop/singer-songwriters (Joanna Newsom, Sufjan Stevens, Arcade Fire) up to more noise oriented music (Sonic Youth, Radiohead) and of course lo-fi, which a superior sound setup will probably do jack squat for
