So I installed vista for DX10 and on top of the fact that I can't get XP to dual boot, I can't get sound either! I installed the latest drivers off creatives site and enabled SPIDF but I'm not getting anything. What's the trick?

Does this surprise you? Vista is plug-n-pray at best. However, let me see what I can dig up...

Edit: See if this helps. It appears you are not the only one with this problem.

For vista users you don't need this fix. Just download drivers for vista and install them. Be sure to enable the digital output by going to the control panel click on hardware and sound then click on sound, highlight speakers then click properties and then click on the custom tab and check the enable digital io box

page 2. That was my fix. Who would have thought that you need to enable digital IO under the speaker option and not the SPIDF option
