Hi All,

I've read lots of good stuff about the musical fidelity X-cans V3 and about the Gilmore Lite amp. I just got some AKG701s, and I'm looking to get an amp to maximize my listening pleasure. I listen to all kinds of music at home, and my headphones will run through my Adcom 565 preamp.

Any ideas about either of these amps or about a relative comparison. Tubes vs. solid state, etc.

I'm new to this and will appreciate any and all comments.

As I type this I am listening to my K701 via X-Can V3 and the sound is awesome. I should point out that the source is my computer, I use iTunes via a Silvertone EB-01 USB DAC to feed my X-Can V3. Also the X-Can V3 has been modified as per PinkFloyd's website (he did the job).
