I was reading Stereophile tonight and saw the review of Rockport Antares. The asking price was $41,500. Maybe I'm getting frugal in my old age, but come on. I admit I have heard some mega buck systems that sounded awesome. But let's see I could buy a Lexus IS 300 for about $36,000, a Blockhead (Blockparty) and pick up a balenced source. Which would you buy??? I know diminishing returns....

I heard these driven by Halcro amplifiers (and I'd have to look at my notes to remember all of the other components). This room sounded fantastic.

Only if I couldn't afford to spend more!

Not that that's likely to be much of a concern anytime soon

The speakers I want cost $75000.

This is why I have headphones.

LOL. At the rate I am going at it would take me about four years to save up that amount of money. And thats no counting bills and stuff like that. So it would probably be about ten years if I lived alone.

If you had heard those speakers driven by the Halcro amps you might be more inclined to sell you soul. The sound was magical.$40,000 maybe not, but you had to hear it.

Let me guess: Martin Logan Statements?

I'm partial to the Eggleston Works Ivy myself ($100,000).
