Would u buy 1 year old used Hornet?

is it worth buying?

i heard it can power HD600 also which cost nearly the same.

i am worried its 1 year old..any issues with the age?

Yes, absolutely. Especially if it has been cared for and is in cosmetically good condition.

1 year is nothing really.

If you check Warranty - Ray Samuels Audio you will see it has a 3 year transferable warranty.

If the previous owner took good care of it then buy it. One year is nothing for the Hornet.

I have bought plenty of used audio equipment including a hornet. No worries. I never had a problem.

There will be no problem with the hornet, whether it will get the best out of the hd600 is another story.

HD650 is selling at a good offer btw.


Sorry but my current headphones are HD555..and i am sure Hornet will be an overkill ?

You bet! and you don't have to burn in anymore. Burn in take time, and effort. I personally prefer buying second for an amp if possible.

A Hornet and the 650s are not a good match. The 600s do a little better. As for whether or not you should get one because it's used, I agree with the above posters, that is, if the owner cared for it well.

Do you really need the portability of that amp?
Otherwise getting a full size amp would usually get you more worth for your money.

hornet powering hd600s or 650s is underkill

sr-71a doesn't have the easiest of times getting the hd600s up into listenable levels - have to get past 60% with the knob at least - and the sr-71a basically has 2x the power of a hornet
