I was wondering if I could house my 2 (9V Batteries) in a project case and terminate it into a center positive DC plug that I could attach to my Pimeta that would act just like the batteries were in the amp? The housing of my Pimeta looks terrible right now but I am having trouble finding something really nice looking that could house 2-9Vs, a trickle charger, and the amp board itself. Could I do this?

Also, if anyone has a suggestion for a nice looking case that would house the amp, that would be cool too.

Thanks

There's no reason why that wouldn't work, it's not really any different than running an amp off a wall wart.

As for a nice looking case, that's very subjective. There was somebody that put together a very nice looking Pimeta with 2x9V and charging circuit into a Hammond case. It looked so good, I re-cased one of my Pimetas the same way.

Found that somebody, it was tomb:

I have put a couple CMoys in black plastic cases that look simple, but are really quite nice. One is smallish and one is about 2x2.5.6 inches. Both look nice on my desk. Black or silver knobs look good and stick on rubber feet add elegance. They are available from all the electronic parts suppliers.

These are very convenient for mounting hardware since they are plastic: measure and mark a drilling guide with a hot soldering iron, start small and drill up slowly to the size you want.

Be aware that the inside of these cases usually have columns and /or fins along the perimeter to strengthen the box so you may need a larger size than you would think.

Good luck
