Hello Everyone,

I'm kinda waiting on my Beyers to come by and I'm also saving up for the IMOD and Hornet and I kinda want something that can hold me over while I wait.

Granted I am only going to use this out of an Ipod and nothing else. So I was wondering if I got the Grado SR60, would they be an upgrade coming from the V-moda Vibes?

I listen to alot of classic Rock, and I was also wondering if the bass in the SR80 was that much better compared to the SR60's?

Thanks in advance,

Izzy

Yes.

Oh, and I wouldn't worry too much about the 80s if you aren't planning on using them with an amp. If you're planning on using these with the iMod/Hornet combo, then the 80s would be a better choice, but if you were planning on getting rid of them for the Beyers, then I would just as soon go with the 60s.

I have SR-60's and they are wonderful headphones that sound great unamped. If you like classic rock, they are the way to go. You won't be disappointed.

Dang it head-fi what about the SR-225, would they still put a smile to my face unamped, (I'm going to get the hornet anyways but it will just take a little longer of course)

Wider than any other $200 headphone.

Darn good statement there.

SR 60/80 is a very good investment; to jump straight to a 225/325i would be iffy because you don't know what kind of Grado signature your ears are really looking for.

Thats a very good point, and anyways its just a temp headphone until my Darth Beyers arrive. So final question Head-fi, Go for the SR-60's or bite my lip and get the SR-80's and go for the bassier headphones(SR-80)? Will the SR-80 still make guitar riffs sing out of my Ipod like the SR-60's?

I apologize if my question seems redundent,

In a Nutshell:

I like bass with very nice guitar riffs. SO........

Should I get SR-60 or SR-80

OR is the difference between SR-60 and SR-80 not worth the extra $30?

Thanks again,

Izzy

I would consider the iGrado which to me were more comfortable so I bought them. And, to me the iGrado sound as good or better than SR-60, even though the driver is the same. The SR-80 sounded a little better to me, hard to say why, maybe a little better bass end.

The SR-80 will suck a lot of power vs the SR-60, or so I am told, but the SR-80 comes with a small 1/8" plug on the cord because it was intended for portable I guess.
