Please don't make fun of me for asking this but...

Would I achieve optimal sound quality to do the following:

iphone-->LOD-->Icon Mobile portable headphone amp-->Mini to RCA-->Arcam integrated amp-->JMLabs "bookshelf" speakers?

Or would I leave out the Icon Mobile from the connection to my home stereo setup?

Many thanks!

Leave the Icon out.. no need to amplify the signal twice.

You might want to connect a headphone amp to a tape/recording loop out on your receiver, if it has the feature. That will let you use the receiver to select between sources to send to your headphone amp.

X2.

This is just an easier way of bypassing your reciever without having to swap cables.
