Hi,

I'm running HD650's through an emu1820 pc soundcard. I use my PC as source.

Would buying a headphone amp improve quality at all? If I did get one, would I plug the amp into the output on the emu soundcard? And any recommendations if I were to look at getting one?

Thanks!

Tom

Use the search engine. You should find enough opinions to last you until Christmas.

I agree with fatcat28037. It will definitely improve the sound of your HD650s. There are so many that go well with the HD650s. A lot of peeps like the GS-1 with the HD650s and you can usually find one here on the FS forums. Good luck on your search

Hi thanks for the replies,

I have had a search but am confused. My current rig is:

PC lossless > emu1820 > Cyrus mono x pre > Cyrus mono x power

I can either plug my headphones into the Cyrus amp or the emu. If I was to buy a decent headphone amp, where would this plug in, the cyrus or emu?

Also wont the sound be as good as the weakest link? so if it's going through the emu and cyrus, then headphone amp wouldnt the weakest component restrict it? so is there any point?

thanks!
