EAMT-1: Hybrid Dynamic AMT drive unit
The new EAMT-1 features an advanced Hybrid Dynamic AMT drive unit specially developed by oBravo, (who created the world’s first Hybrid-Planar headphone). oBravo has now successfully miniaturised the technique for earphones. The Hybrid Dynamic AMT driver is a coaxial design (two driver types combined in one unit) and the configuration is one of the most advanced driver technologies available for headphones. The technology delivers a sound presentation akin to a over-ear headphone, but with the portability of an in-ear.

Air-motion transformers AMT technical description
The AMT diaphragm is made of a Mylar ribbon bonded with conductive aluminium strips. It is equivalent in surface area to a conventional seven-inch cone-type mid-range driver, but is accordion-folded down to a compact one-and-a-half-inch grouping for point-source dispersion. The low-mass diaphragm is suspended within a dipole magnetic field concentrating an intense field around said diaphragm. When signal current passes through the aluminium strips, the ensuing bellow-like motion of the folded pleats moves air five times faster than with a conventional cone driver.

I hope this sounds decent, but I must say I find it depressing that so many in the industry seem to consider a products high price-tag to be a positive 'feature'

Colour me completely amused.  When you market a headphone with the tagline 'world's most expensive' it strongly suggests that it's a product manufactured for suckers.

"Hey everyone, look at my ridiculously pricey earphones!  They're gold plated and spent half an hour marinating in Sting's saliva.... So exclusive!  Hey, why are you walking away?"

that's all very well until you hear them and find out the technology that has gone into these. :)

Who has heard these?

If they are serious about selling these, maybe they should consider sending a set on a demo tour!!!
