Got these earbuds today! All I have to say is…these sound great with my iRiver flash player

! I though they sounded pretty bad with the plastic sleeves, but once I put on the foamies the sound changed entirely. A lot more bass! I wish the plastic sleeves would work for me, but I can’t seem to get comfortable in them. Even the small size were too big for me

. I’m expecting them to sound even better once I burn them in. Can you guys give me some tips on how to keep the foamies clean? I don’t want to go through a lot of them within a short time. Thanks!

the only way to keep the foamies clean is to keep your hand clean (when you roll them before insertion) and keep your earcanals clean too (well through some kind of safe cleanin procedure). i usualy just wash them with dishwasher soaps and they reexpand.

youll eventually have to buy new ones. after a couple of washes, they lose their spongy feel and dont isolate as well as newer ones.

Don't let a coupla bucks keep you from full enjoyment of your new shure e-2's. Once you've worn out a pair of foamies, switch back and forth with a new set, and you will notice a real difference in sound quality.

if you mix hand/skin lotion with water in a jar, leave the sleeves in it for about 3 days straight i bet it will soften a bit. the triflange and e3c's grey sleeve did too.....and smell much nicer.

just a consideration. look at my post count, i wasted way too much time here.
