Wood upgrade of Baby Orpheus HE 60 to the Orpheus HE 90 housing.

Did you consider any other type of wood? I understand the use of plywood from a stability and machining standpoint, but just don't care for the birch/pine/glue, and how porous the soft wood is.
 
Thanks for the inspiration, as I started down this path once with some exotic afzalia burl, but might start again with some walnut (easier to machine), or continue to work this.

Here is something of a similar nature, adapter plates to fit the HE90 so it can use any Stax Lambda drivers.  
 

 
Prelimary tests are very promising (as I've always hated the HE90) but I'm still waiting on some more Lambda drivers to try out.  The LNS should be awesome here...
