SOLD

For Sale:

My 6 month old Woo Audio WA2 tube amp: Colour: Silver.

Warranty is transferable.

I have just picked up a WA22 and thus would like to sell this one. I would like to hold on to it until next week to do a quick A-B with my WA22. So I guess this is an interest check for now.

Included:

WA2 (silver)

Stock tubes

+ NOS Mullard EZ80 rectifier tubes x2

+ NOS Telefunken EZ80 rectifier tubes x2

+ NOS JAN Sylvania 6922 driver tubes x4

Price: $SOLD + Paypal + Shipping (North American confirmed Paypal addresses).

Buyer requires good Head-fi feedback as well.

One other option is that the potential buyer could make say a $200 Paypal down payment now, and then the balance next Friday July 8th. I will then have the WA2 + NOS tubes listed shipped out by close of business on Friday July 8th once the second payment has cleared.

Please PM me if you're interested.

Thanks!

Peter

Its fine, apparently though I haven't sent any PMs for days it's capped me at the 2PM/day limit until I get my postcount up. I just wanted to inquire if there would be any sort of conditions where you would consider selling to someone who doesn't have a large postcount. I completely understand the reasoning behind it but I figure if I paid for it in advance then the risk is all mine right? I pretty much know I shouldn't be buying this but it's such a good deal I'd kick myself for at least not asking.

Thanks,

Dave

Ps: Since I've been lurking around for a while and reading threads you've posted in, I've come to trust your opinion, and thus I ask, would this amp be really well suited to K701s? What other amps would you say are as good or better? I've narrowed it down to a WA6 SE, yours, or a Schiit Lyr which you also own.

Yeah I still can't send them for some reason so here's the transcript of my reply:

Yeah I've done a lot of reading about how OTL amps have a really hard time driving them since they're so power hungry. I've got some great feedback on ebay (http://myworld.ebay.com/the_camerican) but regardless I doubt I'll be able to buy it anyways. Its just so shiny.
Thanks for the info though, I'll hopefully see you around.

OTL amps are ideal for higher impedance headphones as they can swing voltages better. Remember Power = Voltage * Current. But with regards to orthos, my WA2 does a very commendable job with my LCD-2s (and surprisingly better with my HE-6s than my Concerto...though neither amp is ideal with the HE-6s).
