I came across that page some days ago and have wondered, why on earth the connection ran through the top of the head-band... It would look pretty funky wearing them around in public... So what was the intention with it ? And BTW - any of phones still available from row 2,3 and 4 ?

For the Teletubby look, perhaps?

Old Senns, old Senns,
Sat on their parkbench like bookends
A newspaper blown through the grass
Falls on the round toes
of the high shoes of the old Senns

Old Senns, winter companions, the old men
Lost in their overcoats, waiting for the sunset
The sounds of the city sifting through trees
Settles like dust on the shoulders of the old Senns

Can you imagine us years from today,
Sharing a parkbench quietly
How terribly strange to be seventy

Old Senns, memory brushes the same years,
Silently sharing the same fears

my guess is that they aren't for street or just normal wear. Obviously they are put that way for a reason. My guess is that they would be used where a connection would be above you. Lets say in a recording booth or something like that. so you can do your thing and not worry about having a cord in your way. thats my 2 cents

Well, I just won a pair of the 450's in row four off of Ebay. I have no idea how old they are, what the specs are or if they sound any good. The pair I won is red as opposed to blue and are actually the HD 450 II model so I don't know what the difference is between what I'm getting and the regular 450. I bought them simply because I though they looked kinda cool even though I probably paid too much. Anyone have any info on them?

Thanx for clearing that up... However it must be very hard to go head-bang while mixing DJ'ing... so not for Craig David, not that I'm a fan of him.. but it seems like his head always shakes dangerously when doing songs (seen from videos etc.)

The HD450 look very nice, and from a replacement store, the caps seems to be available in blue or red, and for a 600 ohm version too.

just completely off topic. I saw the px200 for the first time in my life today and tried em on my md... they sounded ok, but I could get only a decne t amount of bass when i pressed the pads against my ears.

still probably the cutest headphones i've ever seen.. so small!

AFAIK, all of the headphones in Rows 2, 3 and 4 have been long discontinued, and no longer available at retail. The RS-6 had been replaced by the RS-60, and now the RS-65; the RS-8, RS-80 and then RS-85. There is no current replacement for the MX-3. And all of those corded non-earbud Senns in those three rows are extremely inefficient - in fact, even more power-hungry and voltage-hungry than the AKGs and the Senn HD-580 and HD-600; you'll need an even bigger amp in order to drive them anywhere near loud enough.

lol, spongebob_nz, you must see the listing on Trademe... I wondered about the same question too. I hope there are more infos of them comparing with the current Sennheiser models.

haha, yup i spotted them on trademe, thought they looked quite cool, and yeah googled for them but there is no information about them anywhere.

damn, so it looks like i might have some competition, unless they somehow go for like $50, i wont be competing in the auction, i have no money left.
