With Podcasting support being added to iPod and MP3 bookmarking a part of it...

... anyone know a way to create MP3 files yourself (audiobooks, etc.) to have bookmarking? You know like the AAC 'hack' of changing to m4b? Appears as standard .mp3 file (both in iTunes and iPod).

I haven't gotten around to trying this yet, but you may be able to import the books as Podcasts (see new import preferences). I assume this will work. Let me know the outcome if you try it before I do.

What I'm most interested in is converting existing mp3 audiobooks without the AAC conversion hassle. I have a much, much larger library than when we last discussed audiobooks, and this would be a huge benefit. I would especially like to find a way to do the 25 percent speedup thing with MP3 Podcasts and books.
