Hey, that’s awesome that your coworker is looking to get into the headphone world! For a $300 budget, you’ve got a few solid options.Anyone here got an entry level headamp they want to offload? A coworker of mine is looking to dip his toes into the fray and has a budget of roughly $300.
Merry Christmas… my daughter is bringing back my kann alpha cause phone/spotify is all a millennial needs.Merry Christmas ya filthy animals! Did anyone get new audio toys?
Haha. You might as well sell the Kann Alpha and just buy her AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Max. I’m still surprised that’s what I use nowadays when I travel. I stream Qobuz lossless and let the iPhone/ipad convert to AAC lossy and it sounds surprisingly good. Definitely better than my similarly priced gear from 10-15 years ago.Merry Christmas… my daughter is bringing back my kann alpha cause phone/spotify is all a millennial needs.

My very first integrated amplifier and first foray into audio was the Arcam Alpha 5 integrated amplifier in 1994. i liked it so much that eventually I upgraded to a used Arcam FMJ A22 integrated amplifier in 2004. Arcam makes great stuff. And I like their sound. Even though I have now moved on, I still have extremely fond memories of their products. I think you’ll enjoy your A25 for many years to come. We've spoken elsewhere, but I bought myself an Arcam A25 for the lounge room, ostensibly under the guise of Xmas. Replaces my old NAD C356BEE and AMB gamma2, feeding the Dayton RS722 (aka Dr K's MTM) for TV/Xbox/Streamer duties. I was surprised just how much more OOMPH the new amp has into the 4R load.
And just last night, I also ordered myself a new rPi setup to play around with as a dedicated music server.
