Winnipeg meets' thread (Ongoing)

Holy cow dudes time moves so fast, just over a week to go before our meet!

Anyone have new toys to share? Nothing on my end. I've been too busy with house renos and upgrades. Oh wait I did get new speakers. So did @Beefy lol.

I know, right! And my Xmas present to myself is a Black Friday special on a new amp for the loungeroom to accommodate another speaker purchase.

I think the meet I attended really solidified for me that I was at my own personal headphone endgame. There is a heap of other great gear out there, but it's all sideways movements.

Anyway, not sure yet if I can make it on the 7th, but if I can, I would probably bring my Exstata/Lambda combo. Would anyone have a small balanced source to hook it up to?

Ooh what other speakers did you get?

Smallest balanced source I have is an RME Babyface Pro FS, though it'll need drivers.

Haven't picked them up yet, but planning on the R3 Meta in the new year.

I love the 'little brother' LS50 and Arcam A15 so much in the study, the 'big brother' R3 and Arcam A25 (on sale for black Friday) will be for the loungeroom. My space isn't quite as odd shaped as yours, but towers won't fit......

Y'know, for that price you could buy 4 or 5 pairs of the Q350 on clearance and build a line array on each side... :L3000:

(it could even be a horizontal line array)

The trick is to build a large enough line array to replace the entire cabinet!
Gotta have my (half)wall of sound!

Have you considered re-phrasing and asking where you can place your audio furniture?

I think the wise choice is letting her buy a dining room table before I try adding audio furniture into the mix...

When we first started dating, she was using the stock tv speakers. I upgraded first to a Vifa Helsinki, then later the Copenhagen. Before we were engaged I snagged a Stockholm off ebay for cheap which we used until I recently upgraded to the KEFs. The first couple upgrades she could hear the difference, but the lastest step up to the KEF still gets some eyerolls. To be fair, the Copenhagen is a very good soundbar, albeit it's verging on too big to be called that. The sound is "better", but not significantly so apart from staging. The room is now the limiting factor.

Hey guys, since we'll be overlapping with dinnertime this Saturday, shall we coordinate for foodstuffs?

La Pampa is an excellent choice!

For anyone who doesn't have my (new-ish) address, please send me a text or PM.
