I just submitted my vote for Dec 7. Somebody other rifi should host this time -- the guy needs a break! @Armaegis you should have us over to your new house -- I don't think any of us has seen it yet.

You missed the last one which was at my house!

Location may come down to which one of us gets approval from the missus.

I just learnt about this
https://github.com/opra-project/OPRA
I don’t EQ my headphones much let alone try other people’s EQ.
But I wasn’t sure if anybody else might be interested in this.
I know people post headphone EQs everywhere but it’s kinda cool everything is centralized.
Yep, I usually have not used much EQ either, but I have been trying OPRA in Roon since they just introduced it.
I have been trying out the Oratory1990 filter, seems good to me so far.

See here for details of Roon's implementation:

It just appeared in roon yesterday. I have tried it with my iem’s with good results. You can convert it to a parametric eq curve and then adjust to your liking. Here is what I got for my legend x iem and then I boosted the bass shelf at 105 hz. Basshead. Best results so far has been with my Odin. They take eq and still retain their character.

I know @Rubin was playing around with convolution filters for a while which are in the same ballpark. Maybe @rifi was too?

I certainly am working with convolution files. That said I have really only been a willing test subject for @Rubin. He has all the technical know-how. I can do basic stuff in REW but I know little of how things actually work. I simply have used Rubin's measurements and target curves then tweaked and played around with those. I can only really speak to the challenges and benefits of living with and building systems around convolution, rather than developing custom convolution files. Particularly DIY and open source systems. Not commercial stuff like Roon.

So it seems that I am double booked on Dec 7th. I could theoretically show up for about 30mins from 6-6:30 as Eunah and I are expected at an event by 7pm. So unless we bump the meet time up into the afternoon on the 7th I don think I am the right person to host this time... And if we agree to something like a 4:30 or 5pm start I might be able to hang out for a bit longer. But do not change any of this on my account.

Oh and I have recently finished repairing and bringing a Dual 1219 turntable back up to spec. I originally bought it as a parts bank for my 1229 in case something ever breaks on it. That said these things are tanks that can also really make records sing. I feel bad keeping one that works perfectly well in my basement just waiting to be parted out if my main 1229 breaks down. Let me know if anyone is interested or knows of anyone looking for a very good vintage turntable. It also comes with a Grado Prestige Red cart. No idea how old the stylus is, but my tests once I got it working again sounded good so it must still have some life in it. That said, anyone running turntables like this are often a little neurotic (I say the in the most positive way, knowing I am certainly on that spectrum!) and would probably want to replace it just to make sure they know their stylus is in prime condition and can track the hours on it.

Happy to negotiate a fair deal with anyone interested.

FYI the 1219 and 1229 are essentially the same, except the 1219 does not have a built-in strobe speed gauge like the 1229. but everything else is essentially 100% swap-able.

Holy cow dudes time moves so fast, just over a week to go before our meet!

Anyone have new toys to share? Nothing on my end. I've been too busy with house renos and upgrades. Oh wait I did get new speakers. So did @Beefy lol.

I thought about it... but maybe when I set up a theatre in the basement. There's no place for components in the living room with our current setup.

Correction: there's no place where I'll be allowed to set up components.
