Windows Sonic configuration

What are the correct settings for using Windows Sonic with MPC HC + LAV?
Setup: Xonar DGX+Headphones via headphone jack. The source file will have a 5.1 or 7.1 audio track.

From what I read in order for Windows Sonic to work the player must be set to output 5.1/6 or 7.1/8 channels.
How do I do this from MPC?
Do I need to enable the Mixer in LAV audio? Or the mixer in MPC HC?

    Thank you.

Yea, so you enable windows sonic and you have to check the box for 7.1 virtual surround sound. Then you would have to set a mixer to 7.1 (I've used lav audio in the past) to force the player to always output 7.1. And then you would have to make sure the audio renderer is set to default directsound device, because some renderers won't work with sonic.

@mindbomb, the analog is still set at headphone and not speakers?

I am also using reclock, will try to see if that works.

Well, you can't use wasapi, but with directsound I think it will work. Idk, you'll notice sonic when it is on.
