Just wondering if it's worth hanging on to them for a while.
Will the Hifiman HE400 and HE500 end up like the old Denons and become very expensive?

I think that old Denons become expensive because their new line is much worse (judging by reviews). This not the case with Hifiman, which gets better with every new generation of their headphones.

You never know, but I doubt it. It's not the same situation, and HiFiMan may continue selling the old models (perhaps at a reduced price, like Apple does with its older iPhones & iPads) even tho new models are available. Have they been officially discontinued yet? As long as they're still in production, the value won't be going up.
