Will the ATH-W100 earpads fit the ATH-W1000 headphone?

Thought I had read a post about this but now I can't find it.

AudioCubes has the leather replacement pads for the W100 headphones for $45. I'd like to replace the "pleather" earpads on my W1000 headphones with these, but....will they fit? I just think the leather pads might breathe a bit better and be more comfortable.

Anybody know?

I read somewhere around here that the pads that come with the W1000 aren't pleather, but some higher quality synthetic that is actually more durable and comfortable than the leather ones. IIRC though, it is the W2002 pads that will fit the W1000. I'm not sure though.

You're right, radrd - it was the W2002 leather earpads I read about, not the W100 pads, and it was JML's post that I read about swapping the W100 pads with the W2002 pads. Guess I got just a bit mixed up!

I'm not at all sure the W2002 pads will fit the W1000s. The W100 earcups seem much smaller than the W1000s, so I guess that means the W2002's are smaller, too.

I was hoping the pads would make the W1000 headphones fit better. The headphone is comfortable, but too loose for me - they just don't feel secure. Guess I'm going to have to be brave and try to bend the coil springs without breaking them.

But I want the leather pads, not the synthetic pads from the W100s. I guess I should assume that the W2002 pads don't fit the W10000 headphones. Oh well, it was worth a try.

The W100 pads and the W2002 pads have identical dimensions, but the W2002 are leather and the W100 are artificial. I know. I have them both. They're interchangeable.

It seems to me from the pics that the W1000 and W2002 earcups are the same. True?

If true, then the W2002 pads should fit on the W1000.

Bangraman? Tell me now, please. I'm ordering mine.

OK, I just tried it and despite the smaller landing area, it does fit... Just. Personally I find the Clarino pads more comfortable for the W1000.

Ah... OK. I've tried swapping around the pads. The W2002 pads fit slightly more tightly on the W1000, And actually the W1000 pads don't rattle, being quite a tight fit also. The pads and the area that the pads hang onto on both phones are not the same but they do work either way around.
Now the thing: I prefer the W1000 pads, both on the W1000 and the W2002, because of their shape. Leather/Clarino feel doesn't differ a lot for me. The 2002 pads are more thinly padded and also don't have the support towards the back of the neck which I like.

Well, I just ordered the W1000, and decided to hold off on the W2002 pads for now. I have the leather W2002 pads on my W100, and will give 'em a try eventually.

What are the Clarino pads?? bangraman, you have lots more experience with this than I do, and if you say the W1000 pads are more comfortable, I'd best take your word for it.

Anyway, I guess I'll stick with the stock W1000 pads for now - still need to bend the headphone coils to see if I can make the headphones fit more securely. Perhaps that's all I need....

Anyone know where to get replacement pads for either of these headphones? W100, W1000, W2002, W1000x.  I think they all pretty close in fit.  Seeing that the W100 is pretty old, I'm looking for a set of replacements.

Thank you in advance.
