will D2000's, MS1's and AD700's get any improvement with an amp?

All of these are pretty low impendance, they will run off a modded X-fi card and was wondering if forking out 260 odd for a LD-MKIII would be worthwhile?

Low impedance cans still demand current to sound their best, so yes- an amp will improve the sound with a decent source.

I have no experience with the LD amps. They do have a strong following though.

With the D2000, the most noticeable things that happen with a halfway decent amp are that the soundstage widens and there's plenty more bass. Especially bass.

instead of LD, why not a gilmore lite? I preferred them over LD MKIII- especially running low-impedance 'phones

Hmmm thats definitely a possibility, I'm pretty price sensitive being a poor student but if there are any in the trade forums I may have to jump on them - any other suitable desktop amps within a poor mans budget for these phones?
