Will my soundcard with no amp work with these headphones. I will use them for music like electronic and rock, but mainly for games like Counter Strike and BF3. Answers and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The Xonar DX will in no way drive DT990 600-Ohm.
The Xonar DX will drive, barely above a whisper, the DT990 250-Ohm.
How much can you budget for a headphone amplifier?

Sorry I was being stupid when I typed this, I meant the 250-Ohms. I was looking at the Fiio E11s. My budget is prob around 80 dollars.

If you get the Fiio E11 ($50), order with an extra battery (BL-5B) and a simple battery charger.
As the Fiio E11 can not recharge it's own battery while the E11 is in use.

Fiio E11 with extra battery and a battery recharger, $51.99

I really know nothing about the Ymoda M80s.

Why you dont buy a 80ohm so you dont have to buy amp

There is no 80 Ω DT990, and even if there was, it would not be much louder from this card than the 250 Ω version anyway, and the sound quality would be degraded by the 100 Ω output impedance of the Xonar more.
