will a good sounding headphone still be good in 20-30 years?

what i think now that Hifi/audiophile gear is getting much cheaper and more people can get good sound for less money. or can technicals still improve?

I do not believe that something can be still improved. Maybe adjusted or changed. Not improved.
Even technology has limits.

I bought a Jecklin Float electrostatic headphone in ca. 1974 during my study, for there was no room for decent loudspeakers. Now 50 years later it still sounds fantastic…

It took Senhiser 6 years to upgrade the HD800's so year TOTL gear can be relevant for many years.
20 years is a long time in technology years so I'd expect sone improvement.
