Every topic when people ask wuts the best budget portable iem/semi-iem most people without hestitation will say Cx300 and Ep630.

People seem to be forgetting that there is a well capable portable which is the JVC FX55. The're only half the price of the ep630's ( 15 bucks ) and 1/4 of the price of the Cx300. From what I've read, the Fx has more naturual sounds, and tons more detail....only 14.99.......Thats less than half the price of the ep30's

Why no love?

And if your going to pay 60 bucks for the Cx model for 50 bucks, why not put 20 bucks more and get an E2 or er6i, superfi3 or whatever...

If the FX55 has a paper filter on the tube tip (like the EX71S), remove it.
It will sound even better.

Regarding no love, the other plug buds you mentioned probably fit
the average person's ears better so they sound better to them.
The FX55 is smaller so it will fit some (minority) ears better and sound better to them. It's a numbers game. Most people (majority) have bigger ears, hence they like the slightly bigger plugs. The better the seal the better the bass and isolation.

it takes time for people to discover/notice these things, besides, JVC is relatively new to in-ear phones. they do have earbuds in the past, but not in-ear phones.

did you get yours, yet Jesse40902?

Hey njsong, are you a girl ( I was just wondering if the Fx55 fits your ear properly). Cause the FX55 is going to my girlfriend.

Also the FX55 only comes with the 8.5mm

The Er6i has the 8.5mm and the big plug that goes to the reciever?

Sup kaotic: Nah buy.com has been pretty slow..i dont even think they shipped it out yet....I really want to ck out the Fx55 though and the Er6i. Damn i should have gotten the pink for my gf.

Sorry man. I'm a guy. LOL.

And too late, I already have a sale pending for my FX55's so I can't let my friend try it out.

can somebody tell me how big or those 8.5mm plugs? isnt that bigger than the 1/4 plug? How will that fit the portable player?

Also why are you selling your fx55? Your looking for upgrades?

8.5mm is the size of the driver. The ep-630's have a 8mm driver, for example. Every iem that i know of has the size 3.5mm miniplug

The EP630 and CX300 seem to be based on the SHARP MD33 which
according to audiocubes has a 9mm driver like the SONY EX71SL.

I suspect the creative 8mm specification was a mistake and should read
9mm. But who knows?
