I just got a new laptop, a *gasp* Dell xps2, and I bought a few new CD's I wanted to rip via EAC + Lame. I installed EAC and lame, or rather extracted them, configured the settings as usual with the adaptec aspi driver and set the extraction to --preset extreme. I noticed after a while that the wav files were not getting compressed into mp3's and that LAME was not doing what it was supposed to do; rather it was displaying some sort of message that pops up and disappears way to fast for me to read! Has this sort of thing happened to anyone else?

Prolly the command line options for LAME are wrong (e.g. no source and destination file name given). Check the 'net for a combo that works.

Did you make sure that you entered the directory/location for the Lame.exe file? I forgot to do that once.....
