Why is it the left side of my headphones always seems to go out?

I recently purchased a pair for HD 201s, they've been great and have very good sound quality for the price. But for some reason this morning the left speaker isnt working at all, this is not the first time this has happened to me, it has happened with other pairs of headphones before.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Do you use your headphones for partable use? If so, do you carry the player in your pocket/on your right side? Well, if both of these are true, then the wiring for the left headphone is getting more stress than the one on the right, which could cause it to die out before its time.

If neither is true, then I have no idea why the left keeps dying on your headphones...

There might be a few possibilities... the tip of your stereo plug might not be making contact internally with the jack of the device it's plugged into - have you tried it in another device? Try plugging the 201s into another player/amp/computer and make sure it is indeed the cans to narrow the variables. There might be a cold solder joint or broken connection on the plug end or in the left channel of the headphone.
